The ancient beauty of Zhouzhuang spreads to fashionable Hong Kong

In the afternoon of March 31, 2011, the Kunshan (Hong Kong) Culture and Tourism promotion Fair was held at the Hong Kong Panorama Hotel dubbed "I Love Zhouzhuang".

More than 100 people from the tourism industry and the media attended the fair which was set up to promote cultural tours in Zhouzhuang. During the fair, China Travel international and Zhouzhuang Tourist Administration signed a program named "Hong Kong people traveling to Zhouzhuang". This program provides well-established tours and offers discounts for Hong Kong tourists.
With its profound historical background and unique cultural heritage, Zhouzhuang is renowned for its typical riverside scenery in Yangtze River Delta and today attracts three million visitors each year. It has been shortlisted as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, and has already won many awards, including the Dubai International Award for Best Practices in Improving the Living Environments and an American Government Award. The Shanghai Expo in 2010 also brought a great deal of benefits to Zhouzhuang.
As part of the fair, an exhibition planned by celebrated photographer Jian Qingfu also took place, for which photos taken by several Hong Kong photographers in Zhouzhuang over the past 30 years were put on display. Some photographers from Taiwan and Macao also submitted entries to this exhibition themed "Zhouzhuang—in the artists' eyes".

Meanwhile, promotional activities have been planned on all fronts. Promotional materials and performances will also form the highlights for the Square of Chinese Cultural Tourism Year. A detailed introduction of special page on China Tourism provides reference for Hong Kong tourists. The “Hong Kong people traveling to Zhouzhuang” program will be advertised on line. And outdoor advertisements will be placed in the neighborhood of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
