Chinese government gives push to music industry

During the fourth Music Industry Forum held on Nov 3, the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television  said a series of promotions will be given to the Chinese music industry in the future.

The promotions include the following nine clauses:

1. Establish a research institute and database for music industry. Deepen research of the music industry and improve industry assessment.

2. Promote a general standard for the music industry in China.

3. Strengthen training for music talent and establish a database of musicians and music professionals.

4. Encourage original music and promote the inheritance of traditional Chinese music, as well as new creations based on modern society.

5. Support large music companies and influential music brands, and enhance the establishment of music industry bases and music towns.

6. Strengthen the protection of music copyrights and promote the registration of music copyrights.

7. Enhance international cooperation for the music industry and promote Chinese music in the world.

8. Encourage demonstration projects in music industries and establish a project database.

9. Promote the establishment of trade associations for music industries and enhance third-party services.
