Exhibition in Lhasa shows thangka art

The Sixth Tibet Thangka Art Exhibition kicked off in Lhasa on Dec 23 with a display of about 100 thangkas painted by masters from the region.

The artwork schools include manthang, mansard, Gardri and Chentse.

The region had more than 3,000 thangka practitioners by the end of 2016, and four were awarded with the honorary title of "reat Tibetan Thangka Master".
