chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: 2013-04-15 16:01

State-owned enterprises held its first job fair for people with disabilities in Beijing on Saturday.

Sixty SOEs offered 184 jobs, including warehouse keeper, car parking coordinator and electrical engineer. The average salary was over 2000 yuan (323$) per month.

An applicant surnamed Xu said the job offers were low-ended and more higher level positions should be open to the disabled too.

Wu Xuewen, deputy director-general of Beijing Disabled Persons' Federation, said 1.7 percent of jobs in Beijing’s SOEs should be reserved for the disabled and an employment security fund for the disabled should be paid if companies fail to meet the standard.
