China will take measures to support the development of small and medium-sized businesses, as the State Council, or cabinet, is due to discuss the matter this month, Shanghai Securities News reported.
The proposal for such measures was revealed at a conference in Chengdu, in southwestern Sichuan province, where 800 representatives of industrial and commercial concerns and governments have been discussing how to develop small and medium-sized businesses.
Gu Shengzu, a member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, said 60 to 70 percent of small and medium-sized businesses faced a battle to survive.
