RABAT -- Morocco has offered China emergency humanitarian aid worth one million US dollars following the deadly earthquake in China's southwestern province of Sichuan, the MAP news agency reported Tuesday.

King Mohammed VI, who made the offer, had earlier sent a condolence message to Chinese President Hu Jintao, in which he expressed shock and sadness over the quake.

More than 40,000 people are confirmed dead in the disaster, making it the worst in China in the past 30 years.
