Innovation springs forth in Shenzhen

On Saturday, the company tested Wi-Fi speed during a football game with an audience of 60,000 in the stadium and realized upload speeds of about 3.36 megabits per second, while normal Wi-Fi speeds for such large ranges can only reach about 500 kilobits per second.

The company was set up five years ago by five students who came back to China after studying abroad. Two years later, it was listed on the Hong Kong stock market. To date, the company has applied for more than 2,800 patents.

Liu said that all innovations are not accidental, but there are some principles to follow. Therefore, he organized a research team to study the secret of all major human innovations.

The team presented a disruptive innovation operating system 1.0 at the conference, sharing their business model for all innovators, from product and market development to organization and employee behavior.

Liu also proposed a concept of disruptive innovation ecosystem.

Dorian Barak, chief executive officer of Indigo Global, said: "Shenzhen is one of the few cities in the world that has what is called the 'disruptive ecosystem'. Its ingredients include disruptive mindset, culture that encourages risk taking and provides the spark for innovation."
