For the fifth World Hepatitis Day on July 28, Wu Jieping Medical Foundation and Bristol-Myers Squibb, a global biopharma company, have launched China's first picture album to record the 10-year history of hepatitis B treatment in China.

The album promotes the advances in hepatitis B treatment and patients stories, according to Duan Zhongping, director of Wu Jieping Medical Foundation's liver disease department. The album will go on sale in bookshops in China later this year.

"The album aims to review the short history and conclude the achievement during the 10 years," Duan said.

The treatment of hepatitis B here has made massive strides since 2005, when China's first guidelines for disease prevention and treatment were issued.

The Hepatitis B vaccine was included a national immunization scheme back in 2002.

More than 200 million Chinese children have received the vaccine during the past 13 years, according to National Health and Family Planning Commission.

Bristol-Myers Squibb, which produces antiviral medicines, has increased its charity programs to promote hepatitis B treatment in China through its Wu Jieping Medical Foundation.

So far, the company has invested $8.3 million in 27 programs across the country.
