Leaders of major Chinese Internet companies are ready to cooperate with their US counterparts to meet challenges, including cyber attacks and exploring business opportunities.

Liu Qiangdong, founder and chairman of e-commerce company JD.com:

"A trans-national organization should be set up for Internet companies to address shared issues, such as cyber security. Every big Internet company is a victim of cyber attacks. For instance, JD.com suffers from tens of thousands of hacks every day. They have to spend large amounts of time, money and energy on responding to cyber attacks. If an organization can be established to defend enterprises as a whole, I believe the risks of being hacked will be greatly reduced.

I hope the cyberspace authorities in China and the US can lead efforts to organize major Internet companies in the hope of locating the source of attacks.

Eight years ago, when the first China-US Internet Industry Forum was held, Chinese companies were mostly copying the business models of US companies. But looking at the Chinese Internet companies (attending the forum) today, one third have their own original and innovative models."
