The award ceremony for the 36th Han Suyin International Translation Contest and a symposium on "Translation as a Bridge for Civilizational Exchange" were held in Beijing on Saturday.
Additional activities included a lecture analyzing translated entries to the contest, and two panel discussions: "Translation and Enhancing National Cultural Soft Power" and "Translation and Talent Cultivation for Civilizational Dialogue and Mutual Learning".
This year, 1,230 winners were selected from over 43,000 participants. Among them, 21 received first prizes, 22 institutions were awarded Best Organization Awards, and the Hunan Normal University was recognized with a Hosting Organization Award.
