The making technique of Yimeng dough figurine has a 100-year-old history and was listed as an intangible cultural heritage last year. The dough is usually made out of flour and sticky rice which is then kneaded, steamed, shaped, dyed and dried in a 16-step process.

The first Intangible Cultural Heritage Cultural Expo was held in Linyi on June 3-5, in the lead up to China's first Cultural and Natural Heritage Day on June 10.
