The town has been expertly producing rice wine for generations and in ancient times, households would ferment several jars of rice wine a year to give as gifts of hospitality or to savor at special occasions such as weddings or the Chinese New Year.

In time, however, the tradition gradually declined and many locals forgot the secrets of rice wine. This new center was started as a means of rectifying this cultural void.

The center is located in a wood and stone bungalow and boasts a classical quadrangle structure. It is adorned in a traditional Chinese style and functions as a rice wine museum.

Upon arrival, a giant jar of rice wine catches the eye and visitors notice the series of informative panels lining the room. The site is comprised of a series of side rooms that offer guests a range of wine-related activities including the opportunity to enjoy a tasting session. Before leaving the premises visitors have the chance to purchase a jar of Loudong wine, which certainly makes an excellent present.
