A dialogue of renewed Sino-German cooperation, themed on the Belt and Road Initiative, took place in the city of Taicang, Jiangsu province, on June 2.

The dialogue allowed experts from China and Germany to share insights into how the two countries can work together to better integrate modern industry, energy conservation, environmental protection, urbanization and ecological tourism.

China has prioritized environmental protection and green development in recent years. Germany has been a key partner in driving forward China's environmental efforts, with its advanced technologies in the environmental protection industry and experience in tacking environmental pollution.

According to Cao Feng, director of the Taicang tourism bureau, the city is seeking to cooperate with Germany in the tourism industry. The city plans to blend German elements with its ecological tourism projects and construct based on German building standards.
