Xiangming Grand Theater was built with a budget of 70 million yuan ($10.52 million) and has a capacity of 1,522 seats, including 22 VIP seats. Covering a total floor area of 8,000 square meters, construction of the building, using the high-quality construction equipment and technology, was completed within two years.
Xiangming Grand Theater was originally designed for the modern dance drama Picturesque Huizhou, a masterpiece directed by the famous Chinese director Duan Jianping. The performance features magnificent stage properties and costumes, and other high-tech stage equipment and techniques such as the special light effect of the laser lamp, an artificial rain curtain and waterfall stage and fog system. The dance drama presents a new attraction for the audience and charming Huangshan.
The stage consists of five multi-dimensional platforms and several performing areas. It's equipped with state-of-the-art 5.1-channel surround speakers and a high-definition, full color LED eight meters high and 22 meters wide. It’s unlike any other stage in China.
