This year, the Chinese New Year concert will be showcased by the Chinese Folk Music Performers Art Troupe with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The Shaanxi Marionette Theater will take part in the cultural events held in Chicago.

The New York Philharmonic will celebrate the Lunar New Year at Lincoln Center in February, which will be the fourth consecutive season of its Lunar New Year concert. The previous concerts featured prestigious musicians like Lang Lang (a world famous Chinese pianist) and Yu Long (chief conductor of the China Philharmonic Orchestra), who were warmly welcomed by audiences and the local media. Yu Long and Yo-Yo Ma (a Chinese-American cellist and seven-time Grammy Award winner) are scheduled to perform in the upcoming concert.

Since 2010, New York’s Empire State Building has held a window display and lighting ceremony to celebrate Chinese New Year and this year is no exception. ICN (the largest Chinese-oriented television media in North America) will present the North America Chinese New Year Gala with the China Ministry of Culture. The Guangdong art troupe and performers from Avenue of Stars, a popular CCTV reality show, China’s equivalent of X Factor, will be featured.
