Society: Population census coming in 2020

China plans to conduct its seventh national population census next year, the State Council, the country's Cabinet, announced. The census, which will start in November, will tally the population and look at its structure and distribution. Data to be collected include name, identification number, gender, age, marriage status, educational level and profession. The State Council will set up a group to be responsible for the research and decision-making for issues that may arise during the census.
