Financial institution hosts international matchmaking events
Bank of China, the strategic partner of the second China International Import Expo, is using its global resources to serve small and medium-sized enterprises attending the event from Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai.
One of the efforts is a supply-demand matchmaking conference organized by the bank.
The conference's opening on Nov 6 attracted the participation of enterprises from nearly 90 countries and regions, helping them to find trade and investment partners in China and beyond.
The three-day conference covers such sectors as trade in services, automobiles, equipment, sci-tech, medical equipment and healthcare products as well as food and agricultural products.

The conference allows business representatives to have one-on-one exchanges on-site, according to the bank's executives.
To help reach deals efficiently, the bank launched an online matchmaking service system to offer all-around support to representatives.
The system's services include data of enterprises, industrial and market information, as well as automatic matching of potential partners.
The conference also includes a special section devoted to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
Bank of China is the official partner of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games and 2022 Winter Paralympic Games, therefore it regards its responsibility to bring together enterprises to tap business opportunities arising from winter sports and related industries, according to the bank's executives.
The activity offers a chance for businesses from China and overseas to discuss businesses in the sectors of winter sports gear and equipment, services and tourism.
The bank's executives said that the initiative aims to help boost the development of China's winter sports and tourism industries.
They said the matchmaking services for global SMEs are an innovative operation by the bank.
To date, Bank of China has held a total of 61 business matchmaking events at home and abroad for SMEs, attracting the participation of more than 30,000 enterprises from more than 110 countries and regions.
To better serve participants at these events, Bank of China has established a professional, multilingual service team consisting of more than 300 staff members working across various areas.
Bank of China's supply-demand matchmaking conference during the first CIIE in November last year was highly praised by domestic and foreign officials and business leaders as "one of the most efficient events of the expo".
