Culture: Born In China wins top film prize

Nature documentary film Born In China was named best long documentary at the first Golden Panda International Communication Awards on Friday in Chengdu, Sichuan province. Directed by filmmaker Lu Chuan, the film documents the lives of the giant panda, golden monkey and snow leopard. When the movie was released in China in 2016, it was hailed by both critics and audiences for its spectacular scenes and creative storytelling. It made 66 million yuan ($9.4 million) at the box office, a record for a Chinese documentary film at that time.
