Shandong pushes creative educational efforts

China Daily | Updated: 2019-10-30 07:55

In Qufu, Shandong province, the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies opened to the public in late August with the aim of becoming a research and study center for Confucianism with global appeal.

The center's opening overlapped with the trial run of a museum dedicated to Confucius and housing nearly 700,000 cultural relics once kept in the Confucius Family Mansion. The museum opened on Sept 6. Its prized exhibits are now on display to enhance visitors' understanding of the ancient sage and his teachings.

Both developments are part of a wider effort by Shandong to take the lead in promoting Confucian ideals to the public.
