Shenzhen offers $39,500 a year for teachers

A recruitment advertisement offering schoolteachers in Guangdong province the chance to earn up to 280,000 yuan ($39,500) a year has gone viral on social media. Published by the Longhua district education bureau in Shenzhen, the ad said it was looking for more than 400 high, middle and primary schoolteachers. As well as an annual salary of between 260,000 yuan and 280,000 yuan, the best candidates would get an annual bonus up to 80,000 yuan. On Monday, the bureau released a statement saying that more than 35,000 graduates applied for positions and 491 from 62 colleges worldwide had a final physical examination.
