Museum scores with mythical creature ice pops

On our Sina Weibo

Ice pops featuring mythical creatures at Beijing's Palace Museum have gone viral. Many visitors posted the photos of the iced sweets on social media, alluding them to works of art. The items are the latest creative cultural products released by the museum, which houses countless treasures and historic relics from imperial China. The museum, also known as the Forbidden City, is often associated with ideas and images linked to "royalty" and "class", far from the lives of ordinary citizens. In recent years, the Palace Museum has strived to devise fun and creative ways to introduce traditional Chinese culture to the younger generation. This year marks the museum's 94th birthday.
