Pop star's fans swamp man's mobile phone

A Changde man has been inundated with phone calls after fans of Avril Lavigne dialed his mobile number hoping to talk to the international pop star. The 35-year-old Canadian, who leaped to fame in 2002 with the song Sk8er Boi, recently published her Los Angeles phone number online. It contained the country code 1 for the United States, and the area code 310 for California, plus her seven-digit phone number. However, Lavigne's fans in China simply dialed all the 11 digits and were put in contact with a Changde mobile phone user. The man, who said he is being constantly harassed, urged Lavigne's fans to use long-distance calling when they wanted to contact their idol.
