Pedestrians who use their mobile phones while crossing the road in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, could face a fine of up to 50 yuan ($7), according to the local legislature. The people's congress of Jiaxing has banned people from browsing on hand-held electronic devices on crosswalks, Xinhua News Agency reported. Violators face fines of between 5 and 50 yuan. The latest rules also cover throwing trash out of cars, sloppy or illicit parking and creating a commotion in public spaces like libraries, museums and movie theaters.
