Forty-two years as a tailor in Beijing is a mere stitch in time for a man who's got the measure of most, whether he's making clothes for a local retiree or the nation's top brass, Du Juan reports.

Li, who's from Beijing, joined Beijing Clothing Industry Co, which was founded in 1961, as an apprentice when he was 19 years old.
