Bandai presents Gundam model to police

Japanese toymaker Bandai presented a one-of-a-kind Gundam model to the Huangpu District of Shanghai Police Department, in thanks for their efforts in shutting down counterfeit Gundam model manufacturers in China. The gift, presented last week, was a gold-coated replica, about 45 centimeters high, of Unicorn Gundam. In early August, Huangpu police uncovered a toy manufacturer producing models of anime toys without copyright, user rights or a trademark license from Bandai. Police confiscated more than 1 million fake toys with an estimated value of 300 million yuan ($42 million).
