Cloned police dog starts service in Yunnan

Kunxun, a cloned female of the Kunming wolfdog breed - a cousin to the German shepherd - completed training and started police service in Kunming, Yunnan province, on Thursday. Wolfdogs are often used for border security, police work and firefighting in China, according to the Kunming Police Dog Base of the Ministry of Public Security. Born on Dec 19 in Beijing, Kunxun joined the base in March. She was cloned from a detective dog, which won first-level merit from the Ministry of Public Security.
