A Japanese tourist had a cardiac arrest on July 27 when climbing the Badaling section of the Great Wall in Beijing. Jin Rui, a doctor from a Jiangsu hospital, and a nurse performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation for nearly 40 minutes in the scorching 36 C heat, until an ambulance arrived. The Japanese woman was admitted to the hospital. Doctors suggested that during hot weather, people should find a cool place to shelter from the heat and avoid outdoor activity.
