AI helps couple reunite with missing son

Thanks to artificial intelligence, a couple in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, have been reunited with their son, who was abducted 18 years ago. Their son went missing in 2001 at the age of 3. Since then, computer vision technology has been greatly enhanced and came up with an image of how the missing child might appear as an adult, said Li Xin, an expert from Tencent. The couple provided as many pictures of their little boy as possible to assist the search, which helped police identify a man. DNA tests proved he was the son.
