Marvel to cast Chinese actor as Shang-Chi

Shang-Chi will be the first Chinese superhero to lead a movie franchise from Marvel Studios. Shooting is expected to begin in January. Variety reported recently that Kevin Feige, Marvel's president, said they are "adamant" that the actor playing Shang-Chi has to be of Chinese heritage. The studio is looking at actors in their mid-20s for the role, hinting that they may be playing the long-game with this particular character.
