Top court to launch new circuit initiative
The intellectual property division of the Supreme People's Court plans to create a circuit court institution in the second half of this year. The circuit court will hear IP major cases at locales where the cases were originally filed. The move will help litigation and increase IP awareness, according to the SPC.

Technology alliance formed in the delta
A technology transfer alliance of higher education institutions in the Yangtze River Delta was founded at an innovation forum in Shanghai on Saturday. The alliance is aimed at promoting industrialization of technologies developed by higher education institutions in the delta. It will also gather and foster professional technology managers and provide support for the delta's integrated development strategy, its founders said. According to its three-year action plan, the new group will focus on business matchmaking and cooperation among schools and with public service platforms.

Liangzhu ruins added to UNESCO list
With the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City added to the UNESCO World Heritage List on Saturday, the number of China's items on the list has increased to 55. It ranks the country at the top globally. The new addition, located in Zhejiang province, reveals an early regional state. It had a unified belief system based on rice cultivation in Late Neolithic China, according to the UNESCO World Heritage Committee. The site is open to online reservations for visits starting on Sunday, limited to 3,000 visitors each day.

Hefei customs stage raid on infringements
Hefei customs has begun a special operation to fight intellectual property infringements, which will last until the end of this year. They will supervise various channels, including marine shipments, airfreights, road and rail transport, express deliveries and parcels by mail. Electronics, auto components, personal care products, clothes, bags and suitcases, and shoes are the focus of the supervision. Exports to the Americas, Europe, Africa and other regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative will receive key inspection, according to the customs.

Textile conference slated for November
The third China Textile Intangible Cultural Heritage Conference is scheduled for early November in Kunming, capital of Yunnan province. The three-day event will include forums, a trade fair, an exhibition and a fashion show. It will also provide ICH experiences and business opportunities, organizers said. In addition, a show of selected ICH-themed movies will be held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the People's Republic of China. A report on China's textile ICH development will be released during the event.
