Top diplomat criticizes Trump in leaked memos

Britain's ambassador to the United States Kim Darroch has described US President Donald Trump and his administration as "inept" and "uniquely dysfunctional", according to leaked diplomatic memos published by The Mail on Sunday. Darroch reportedly said Trump's presidency could "crash and burn" and "end in disgrace", in the cache of secret cables and briefing notes sent back to Britain seen by the newspaper. The paper said the memos cover a period beginning in 2017.

Tsipras calls 'crucial' parliamentary election

Greeks were voting on Sunday in the first parliamentary election since their country emerged from three successive international bailouts. Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras called the vote three months earlier than originally planned after his party suffered a stinging defeat in European and local elections. "It's a crucial battle, we fight it with optimism, we fight it with determination until the last minute," Tsipras said.
