Peppa Pig on zebra crossing stirs controversy

To encourage pupils to use zebra crossings, the traffic department in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, painted images of Peppa Pig on a zebra crossing outside a local primary school. Peppa is a very popular cartoon character for children. However, parents opposed it, because, they said, children will be distracted. Some drivers agreed, saying children might stop in the middle of the road to look at the images.
