Ethiopia PM to broker talks with protesters

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed arrived in Khartoum on Friday to broker talks between the Sudanese government and protest leaders after several security incidents this week. Khartoum has witnessed security incidents near the army's headquarters, where thousands of protesters have been staging a sit-in since April 6. The Sudanese government on Thursday said that 61 people were killed across the country. "The total number of the people killed in the capital Khartoum reached 52," said Suleiman Abdul Jabbar, undersecretary of Sudan's Health Ministry. The remaining nine were killed in three other states, he added.
