Medical sector gains showcased at CIFTIS
Centered on the theme of "Smart Health, Innovation Service - All for People's Health", an exhibition that endeavors to put a finger on the pulse of China's healthcare industry made its debut at the ongoing 2019 China International Fair for Trade in Services.
Organized by the Chinese Health Association, the five-day special exhibition is concurrent with four summit forums and one business negotiation session during the 2019 CIFTIS.
Guo Yucheng, chairman of the Chinese Health Association, said health is the core of people's happiness and national prosperity.
At present, China's healthcare industry is fast developing and in dire need for more support such as national policies, enterprise funds and a better social environment.
On Tuesday, the first day of the 2019 CIFTIS, the Healthcare Financing and Investment Committee was set up to improve the industry's financial market, institutions and product. The committee will roll out plans to connect financial science and technology with China's healthcare industry, and promote coordinated development.
"Another highlight will include the display of China's latest technologies and their applications into the all-round and full-cycle healthcare services," Guo said.
"We have been working for years to apply financial technology and other tech solutions featuring artificial intelligence, big data and blockchain to healthcare services, which include smart health, smart medical treatment, telemedicine and smart elderly care," he said.
Guo introduced many inspiring innovations, providing a glimpse into the future of the healthcare industry in China to visitors and participant enterprises.
For example, a rehabilitation robot working as a non-invasive upper limb exoskeleton driven by the patient's own electromyography signals, is on display.
"Our company will show attendees one of our latest instruments. Press it on your tongue, wait five minutes and you will get the diagnosis," said Yang Hao, deputy director of an exhibitor.
"Attendees can also see a great number of advanced gadgets, such as a watch that monitors blood pressure, blood sugar and heart rate," Guo added.
"Through the joint efforts of all parties and with the help of the 2019 CIFTIS, a large stage is ready, where enterprises and institutions in the field of healthcare services can exhibit their establishments and promote further exchanges and cooperation," Guo said.
