Parties agree on 3-year transition
The Transitional Military Council, or TMC, announced on Wednesday that it agreed with the major opposition forces on the rule structures and a three-year power transition period. "We have agreed on powers of the sovereignty council, the council of ministers and the legislative council," said Lt. Gen. Yasser al-Atta, a TMC member. A comprehensive deal that fulfills the aspirations of the people would be completed in less than 24 hours, he said. According to al-Atta, the legislative council is to be comprised of 300 members, 67 percent of whom will be from the Freedom and Change Alliance and the rest will be from the other political forces.

Houthis claim downing of drone
Yemen's Houthi rebels shot down a drone of the Saudi-led coalition over the capital Sanaa late on Tuesday, Houthi-run al-Masirah TV reported on Wednesday. A US-made MQ1 drone was brought down at midnight by the Houthi air defenses in Dayan area of Bani Matar suburb in the southwest of Sanaa, al-Masirah TV said. According to the rebels, a warplane from the Saudi-led coalition allied with the government attacked the wreckage of the downed drone two hours later. There had been no comments yet from the coalition over the Houthi rebels' claim. On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia said two oil-pumping stations of its main pipeline were hit by explosive-laden drones.

1 dead, 11 wounded in bar shooting
A pair of gunmen burst into a bar and opened fire with pistols, killing one person and wounding 11 others in the Mexican resort city of Playa del Carmen. The bar, which was struck late on Monday, is relatively far from the beach and Playa del Carmen's tourist zone. The state of Quintana Roo's Tourism Promotion Council said on Tuesday that none of the people shot were tourists. The council said the state's leaders have been taking steps to keep popular tourist destinations safe through installation of surveillance cameras and modernizing the police force.
