Tech giant Tencent is imposing tighter controls on those who play online games in China, raising the minimum age of players from 13 to 16. The measure will be introduced in an upcoming release, the company said. In a post on Weibo, Tencent explained the change as an attempt to refine and improve a measure introduced in March. Under the new system, players under the age of 16 will need parental consent to participate, and be limited to two hours of gameplay per day.
