Stand alongside Sri Lanka, condemn cold-blooded attacks

China Daily | Updated: 2019-04-22 07:05

It was a bloody Easter Sunday for Sri Lanka as eight explosions blasted churches and hotels on the island, killing at least 192 people and injuring 470.

One Chinese national has reportedly been confirmed among the dead.

There were no immediate claims of responsibility for the attacks, but Agence France-Presse reported that it had seen documents showing Sri Lanka's police chief Pujuth Jayasundara issued an intelligence alert to top officers 10 days ago, warning that suicide bombers planned to hit prominent churches.
