Society: Tibet offers subsidies for firms

Tibet will offer subsidies of up to 100,000 yuan ($15,000) every year for medium and small tech companies and startups, according to the local science and technology department. The subsidies, called innovation vouchers, aim to spur entrepreneurship and innovation and facilitate resource sharing in the region. The region gained 2.02 billion yuan from the digital industry last year, up 25.1 percent year-on-year.
