Books: Growing market for translated fiction
Book sales of translated fiction in the United Kingdom rose 5.5 percent last year, amid a growing demand for Chinese titles, according to Nielsen Book. The research, commissioned by the Man Booker International Prize, shows more than 2.6 million copies of translated titles were sold in 2018, at an estimated value of $27 million, the highest since Nielsen started the study in 2001. The British newspaper The Guardian featured Liu Cixin's The Three-Body Problem and Jin Yong's A Hero Born in its report on this trend, saying that both "sold strongly" last year.
