Washington and Seoul are planning to "discontinue" annual large-scale military exercises as US President Donald Trump pursues efforts to improve ties with Pyongyang, US officials said on Friday.

The two major exercises, known as Key Resolve and Foal Eagle, would be replaced with a limited version of "mission-specific training," NBC News reported, citing two US defense officials who spoke on condition of anonymity.
