Travel: Chinese tourists flock to sunny Dubai

The number of Chinese tourists to Dubai rose annually by 12 percent last year, according to the Dubai tourism office. The number of visitors to Dubai in 2018 hit 15.95 million, up 0.8 percent year-on-year. Chinese tourist numbers ranked fourth in annual visitor growth with 875,000. To lure Chinese visitors, the United Arab Emirates relaxed the visa rules. Indian visitors topped the rankings with over 2 million visiting the Arab city in 2018. Saudi Arabia came second with 1.6 million tourists.
