People: China's history told through postcards
A retiree's postcard collection vividly illustrates China's history and radical transformation in recent decades. Kong Xiangming, 70, a former electrical engineer from Changchun, Jilin province, has collected more than 6,000 postcards over the past 48 years. They cover a wide range of themes, such as reform and opening-up, the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and anniversaries celebrating the founding of New China. "I enjoy immersing myself in the postcards, as they record history and development," Kong said.
