Heritage: Tomb group unearthed in Shaanxi
Archaeologists said recently that they have discovered an ancient tomb cluster in Shaanxi province. Researchers with the Shaanxi Academy of Archaeology said a group of 12 tombs dating back to the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420) was excavated last year in Leijia village, along with sacrificial sites. The tombs are laid out in two rows, with each consisting of a tomb passage, a door and a path leading to the coffin chamber, according to the academy. The majority of burial objects were pottery works, including figurines of warriors, servants and animals, along with jars and lamps. Some bronze accessories such as mirrors and pins were unearthed.
