Dirty humidifiers may have caused pneumonia

A woman, 52, was rushed to the Central Hospital of Wuhan in Hubei province on Monday where she was diagnosed with pneumonia. She told the doctor that she had nasal allergies and polluted air made her feel unwell so she decided to use humidifiers at home instead of opening windows. However, the humidifiers had not been changed or washed for nearly six years. The doctor suggested buying new humidifiers as they may harbor bacteria.
