Travel: Snow and ice fires up Harbin tourism

Winter has turned Northeast China into a world of ice, which means it's the time of year when residents of Harbin, Heilongjiang province, can look forward to the annual ice and snow festival. The Harbin International Ice and Snow World is scheduled to open to visitors on Jan 5 until the end of February. The park recently released its design sketches for the upcoming festival, which will include famous traditional Chinese and Gothic architecture carved in ice, and a 40-meter-high ice tower.
