Thailand launches e-visa on arrival for visitors
Thailand officially launched e-visa on arrival for visitors on Wednesday. It is the latest attempt of the kingdom to speed the entry process for foreign tourists. Surachet Hakpal, acting commissioner of Thailand's Immigration Bureau, said that the new e-visa on arrival was to deal with overcrowding at airports in Bangkok and other cities. He said tourists wait for one to two hours to get their visa on arrival and can get through the process at an airport. An early application online, between 24 hours and 30 days before arrival, will dramatically shorten the inbound process to just one minute.
