Regulations eased for patent agents
A new regulation on patent agents is scheduled to come into effect in March 2019, which will relax the requirements for founding agencies and streamline the procedures for the annual national patent agent examination. The new regulation reflects reduced government intervention in market activities, according to an official from the National Intellectual Property Administration. The current regulation took effect in 1991. By October, nearly 42,570 people gained the qualification to practice as patent agents nationwide.
