Pompeo delays talks with DPRK envoy

A meeting between a senior envoy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has been rescheduled "when our respective schedules permit", the US State Department said on Wednesday, throwing diplomacy over Pyongyang's nuclear weapons into uncertainty. It offered no reason. Pompeo had been due to hold talks with senior DPRK official Kim Yong-chol, which it was hoped would pave the way for a second summit between US President Donald Trump and the DPRK's top leader Kim Jong-un and make progress on denuclearization.
