Roundtable underscores power of youth for future development
Young people are being encouraged to inject more energy and vitality into future innovation with a special roundtable, held during the 2018 Pujiang Innovation Forum.
The "Science and Technology Innovation Roundtable Summit for Young Innovators" was held on Monday afternoon under the theme "The Nth Possibility About The Future".
Here, "nth" denotes an indefinitely large quantity, or to an indefinite degree, and relates to the seemingly boundless possibilities of young people's imaginations.
Tang Yuli, deputy director of the Ministry of Science and Technology's policy and regulation department, said young people represent the future of innovation and will create the "infinite possibilities" of the future.
The roundtable summit attracted a group of young influential scientists, innovators and entrepreneurs under the age of 45, including Lu Chaoyang, a professor at the University of Science and Technology of China and winner of the First Prize of State Natural Science Award; Vittoria Colizza, director of research at EPIcx Laboratory at the French National Institute for Health and Medical Research; and Wei Si, vice-dean of iFlytek's Research and Development Institute.
They focused on the power of innovation and the potential for growth among young people and shared their insights on trends in future scientific and technological innovation.
Optional activities were also arranged for the talented young scientists and technicians in attendance.
"We look forward to seeing the new forces of youth in different areas injecting inspiration and innovative momentum into our cause," said Tang.
