Trend: Love for instant noodles reheated

Instant noodles, once the bedrock of China's convenience food, are back in vogue thanks to a string of tiny noodle restaurants that have cropped up around the country. Short videos featuring mouthwatering noodles have been going viral on video-sharing app Douyin since May. Customers can find dozens of instant-noodle brands in these restaurants, such as kimchi-flavored noodles from South Korea and tom yum-flavored noodles from Thailand. The popularity of instant noodles has declined in China in recent years due to a boom in online food-delivery services and the growing public awareness of healthy diets.
